The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL or Willis Tower, Chicago location within the General Counsel Division.
What You’ll Work On
Position Summary:
Responsible for data processing and post-export data manipulation using various technology services. The desired candidate must be highly detail-oriented, adaptable to change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a client focused, self-motivated, and team- oriented individual who will bring fresh ideas to accomplish complex tasks.
The position’s primary function is to support legal teams in e-discovery processing and collection workflows using eDiscovery software and industry best practices. The candidate will be working with a small, highly effective team of professionals. Communication skills and attention to detail are critical for this position, as the candidate will be constantly communicating with team members and clients.
The candidate must be able to apply project management methodology, analysis, and industry knowledge to all eDiscovery tasks and coordinate and track these tasks from inception through completion by maintaining ESI process documentation (e.g., collection, processing, and review).
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate, perform and execute eDiscovery data management activities such as data processing, loading into database applications, and other database maintenance.
- Confer with service providers and eDiscovery team on creating and ensuring adherence to client and industry specifications for data collection, processing, productions, and data disposition.
- Provide training/support on litigation support applications and databases, particularly Nuix and Everlaw, in group or individual settings.
- Help administer, create, maintain, support, and resolve issues related to eDiscovery applications and database issues, including solving end user problems if appropriate.
- Understanding of the EDRM, Litigation processes, eDiscovery concepts and technology, including data security, and alternative data sources such as M365, Slack and social media data.
- Understanding and experience with forensic collection processes and analysis.
- Understanding and experience with predictive coding, CAL, TAR, AL, prioritization review and other data analytic techniques.
- Excellent time management and project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent, simultaneous projects including prioritizing or shifting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to keep project documentation and communicate status updates timely.
- Coordinate across teams to drive automation and continuous standardization in processing methodologies, practices, and workflows.
- Responsible for training new or current team members on department processes and applications, as well as assisting with troubleshooting requests and fixes to deliverables.
- Propose and drive initiatives involving processing best practices, increasing innovation and continually improving systems and processes and actively contributes to the development of standard operating procedures and optimization of quality checks.
- Perform quality control checks on self and the work of others to ensure quality ratings remain high.
- Conduct error root-cause analysis at the direction of the manager.
- Assist in the creation and interpretation of operational eDiscovery metrics.
- Assist in establishing a culture of excellence to realize individual and team success
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of Project Management experience (preferably an AM LAW litigation law firm, in-house corporation, and/or vendor environment) providing ediscovery, litigation support and project management to attorneys and non-technical clients.
- Working knowledge of various litigation support and eDiscovery software applications (NUIX, Everlaw, Relativity, Venio, Exterro, Brainspace, etc.)
- Demonstrated passion for driving process improvement, collaboration, and innovation as part of a cross-functional team.
- Ability to solve problems and prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications.
- Knowledge of computer forensics and experience with applications such as Encase and FTK preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must possess a commitment to excellence, a strong sense of urgency, and dedication to client satisfaction and customer service.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
- Duties may require occasionally working outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends).
