A Brief Overview:
We are currently seeking a postdoctoral Fellow for the Surgery Research at Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL— an educational affiliate of the University of Chicago. The Postdoctoral Fellow in Advanced Robotic Pancreas Surgery will engage in cutting-edge research focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques, outcomes, and innovations in GI surgery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to high-impact research, develop surgical skills, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals. 

What you will do:

  • Conduct research in advanced robotic pancreas surgery, including protocol development, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and surgical team to design and execute research projects aimed at improving surgical outcomes and patient care.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of new surgical techniques and technologies.
  • Prepare and submit manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for scientific conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings, departmental seminars, and other academic activities
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of research activities, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support ongoing and future research projects.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field.

What you will need:

  • Doctoral degree (M.D., including those conferred outside of U.S.) in medical field required
  • Strong background in GI surgery, minimally invasive surgical techniques, or related research areas.
  • Experience with clinical research, including study design, data management, and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
