Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 3 for Air Force Market Segment to join the Advanced Weapon (AW) business unit business development team. This position can be located in Northridge, California; Niceville, FL (Eglin AFB); Washington DC Area (Pentagon);  or Eustis, VA (ACC HQ).

This position will report to the Senior Director of Business Development for the Advanced Weapons (AW) business unit. The qualified applicant will lead USAF customer engagement, pipeline development, capture efforts, and strategy development for the rapidly growing US Air Force/Advanced Programs Operating Unit (OU). The Market Segment Lead will coordinate across the BD organization, with the Operating Unit Program managers and engineering team, and with NG cross-functional teams to effectively align capture strategy and resources to satisfy customer demand.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead USAF pipeline identification and capture to support AOP and LRSP growth targets
  • Responsible for the development of customer engagement & growth strategies across the AP OU portfolio, in collaboration with the BU, Division, other Business Units, functional, and Defense Systems Sector teams
  • Create, maintain, and implement USAF customer engagement plans
  • Responsible for ensuring OU compliance with the highest Northrop Grumman standards in BD and Capture including the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
  • Manage OU new business capture to improve overall win rate
  • Responsible for the accuracy and consistency of the Market Segment Pipeline and Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (SalesForce) while following the process standards of the BAP
  • Support the business unit and profit & loss (P&L) leaders to achieve near-term and long-term growth targets
  • Drive execution of strategic vision to drive enduring growth for the Advanced Weapons (AW) portfolio
  • Provide cross-functional guidance to align the Advanced Programs Operating Unit towards strategic objectives
  • Responsible for alignment of investment resources towards Market Segment strategic objectives
  • Lead the USAF Market Segment inputs to the annual strategic planning efforts in collaboration with the USN Market Segment Lead and AW S&BD Director
  • Support the NG enterprise campaigns and represent the AW equities to corporate strategic planning
  • Interface directly with senior leadership to offer strategic perspective and drive results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of overall experience in the defense/aerospace business, military, or national security enterprise.
  • Experienced U.S. Air Force Business Development professional with experience in program management, business development, and U.S. DoD priorities
  • Experience leading teams in Service and/or Industry - managing people, budgets, P&L resources and/or investment prioritization
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recently retired fighter pilot or weapons systems officer from the US Air Force (within 5 years).
  • 10+ years’ experience executing missions for Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) or other weapons engagement missions.
  • Master’s degree in business administration or similar and 15+ years of work experience in the defense/aerospace business, military, or national security enterprise.
  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman business priorities, strategy, capture resources, and key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in successful execution of a strategic plan for a hundred million+ dollar business.
  • Multi-disciplinary global business development, strategy development and capture experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; direct and indirect leadership; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide independent critical assessments, that ultimately result in better outcomes for the business.
  • Proven highly effective executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong customer domain knowledge and a proven track record of sustained business growth.
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Salary Range: $180,600.00 - $271,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
