RSM has an immediate opening for a Technical Project Manager with deep interest and experience in facilitating and implementing successful Microsoft incentive projects.  This position is a internal role, which is responsible for overseeing 20+ Microsoft incentive projects from inception to completion.  The project management oversight will enforce project timeline, resulting in increased client satisfaction, improved delivery and implementation practices and ultimately being compensated by Microsoft for our time. The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile for the team's success. He or she will be a problem solver, creative thinker, and fast learner, be detail-oriented and interested in learning RSM’s consulting business.

Responsibilities Include

  • Manage the delivery of all activities, work products and deliverables against plan.
  • Budget, Scope, and Schedule
  • Track actual hours worked and calculate estimates-to-complete to determine variances in plan. Manages variances through assignment adjustments, issue, risk and/or change control.
  • Review Statements of Work (SOW) for projects ensuring that each is realistic and clearly represented.
  • Translate SOW into a project plan.
  • Implement organizational project structures and governance models for communications and decision-making. Manage project communications including status reporting and steering committees.
  • Assists in monitoring and updating project objectives to respond to changes in the Microsoft incentives program(s). Provides information to support proposed changes.
  • Managing incentive delivery documentation to ensure claims get approved (PoE, project deliverables and invoice).
  • Directs and motivates project team members through the completion of the assigned deliverables within the timeframe required.
  • Effectively and regularly communicate project expectations to RSM consultants and clients in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and serve as an escalation point to team members, facilitating prompt and appropriate responses to project issues and risks.
  • Works with RSM engagement leadership and/or program manager as a key point of contact with the client and is responsible for communication inside and outside the project. Understands goals and requirements and manages expectations and dependencies. 
  • Interacts with client management under the guidance/direction of the RSM engagement leader, project manager or program manager (if part of an integrated program), in discussions relating to the formal acceptance of deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related business field of study.
  • 3-5 years direct work experience as a Project Manager in software development projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously (30+ projects).
  • Must be a team player and be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in and demonstrated experience with Microsoft incentives programs.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (ie. MS Project, Planner, etc.).
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain ownership of incentive process.
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing protocols.
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred.
