Raw Material Planner

Huntsman is seeking a Raw Material Planner supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Arlington, Texas. This position will report to the S& OP Manager.

Job Scope

The Raw Material Planner is responsible for the timely and accurate planning of raw materials required to support production operations. This role operates within the Supply Chain function and focuses on material planning activities up to the creation of purchase requisitions, ensuring material availability while supporting inventory optimization, cost, cash, and service improvement initiatives.

In summary, as the Raw Material Planner, you will:

• Review production plans and inventory levels to determine raw material requirements.

• Create, maintain, and manage raw material requirements within the planning system (MRP/ERP).

• Generate purchase requisitions based on planning outputs and production needs.

• Monitor material availability and proactively identify potential shortages or delays.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Production Planning, and Warehouse teams to align material flow with production schedules.

• Track incoming material orders to ensure materials are available to support production timelines.

• Maintain accurate master data including lead times, safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, and other planning parameters.

• Participate in cross-functional meetings to support demand changes, supply disruptions, or production adjustments.

• Support inventory optimization initiatives through accurate planning and data analysis.

• Support material-related changes or initiatives that improve cost, cash flow, or service performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education required

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience required

• 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, planning, or materials-related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable planning decisions.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in raw material planning or production scheduling.
• Familiarity with supply chain KPIs and performance metrics.
• APICS or similar supply chain certification.
