Our finance professionals play an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. They deliver significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, funding and capital structure to honor our commitments to our stakeholders. They inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

How you will create an impact

  • Execution of quarterly and annual Statutory accounting close processes for US-domiciled PC Insurance entities.  
  • Preparation and review of timely and accurate Statutory Filings for the US-domiciled PC Insurance entities.
  • Lead the execution of critical internal control activities central to the quarterly/annual close, including analytical reviews of line of business and risk location results.
  • Collaborate with an offshore team that supports the Statutory reporting function.
  • Perform other accounting duties and support as required or assigned.
  • Contribute to efforts to strengthen the control environment and implementing process improvements, with a particular focus on enhancing our use of technology and development of automated solutions as AIG invests in transforming the Finance function.
  • Oversee the quarterly and annual regulatory Statutory filing process for 18 companies across 50 states.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of experience in progressive finance roles (controlling, analytics, financial reporting) in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
  • Strong operational controllership experience in an NAIC Statutory reporting environment preferred.
  • Team player willing to go outside defined roles and responsibilities for the benefit of the broader team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery, with an ability to effectively work across teams
  • Strong attention to detail, where accuracy and precision are critical to success.
  • Demonstrated contributions to improvement in processes and controls.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, transformational environment, where change is embraced and viewed as an opportunity for one’s own professional development and to drive process improvement for the team and broader organization.

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $82,000 - $110,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
