Within Retail Banking Services Risk Management, you’ll join a team focused on understanding, measuring and managing credit risk across large-scale retail portfolios. Through thoughtful analysis, strong risk discipline and practical insights, the team helps the Bank lend responsibly, strengthen resilience and support better customer outcomes. As the risk landscape continues to evolve, with increasing focus on data, automation, AI, cyber and emerging risks, the team plays an important role in shaping the future of risk management at scale.

Your Impact & Contribution

As an early-career Credit Risk Analyst, you’ll be supported in helping turn data into practical insights that support effective risk management and better business decisions. You’ll work with large and complex datasets across modern data platforms, including cloud environments, and support the development of risk analysis and reporting tools such as dashboards, automated reporting and analytical applications.

In this role, you'll learn and apply statistical techniques, analytical methods and emerging machine learning approaches to support credit risk insights, gaining opportunities to use AI-assisted tools and analytics technologies to improve the efficiency and quality of your work.

In this role, you may expect to:

  • Perform data analysis to monitor, measure and manage risks across retail portfolios.
  • Extract, transform and analyse data using tools such as SQL, R, SAS and Python.
  • Support the development of risk analysis and reporting tools, including dashboards and analytical applications.
  • Work with large datasets across modern data platforms and cloud environments.
  • Apply analytical techniques, including statistical analysis and emerging machine learning approaches, to support credit risk insights.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and analytics technologies to improve efficiency in analysis, coding, documentation and insight generation.
  • Support the management and monitoring of credit, operational, environmental and social risks.
  • Assist with risk management projects and initiatives across the Risk Management function.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to deliver insights and meet deadlines.

Your Skills & Experience

We're seeking a recent graduate from a quantitative or STEM discipline, committed to continually developing your data analytics capability and are seeking a career where data-led insights inform strategic decision-making.

We're seeking applicants who are:

  • Degree qualified in a quantitative or STEM discipline, such as Data Analytics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or Engineering, with strong academic performance.
  • Highly analytical, with a passion for using data to solve real-world problems.
  • Strong communicators, able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Curious by nature, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, draw meaning from qualitative insights and identify patterns in evolving contexts.
  • Passionate about learning and motivated to work in a highly engaged team environment.
  • Interested in risk management and keen to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly adaptable, comfortable switching between multidisciplinary contexts and managing changing or competing priorities.
  • Experienced or exposed to complex data analysis, coding, machine learning concepts or AI tools through university study, projects or internships. This will be highly regarded.
