Job Description:

About the Role

You will be responsible for the processing of incoming patient specimens including selection of appropriate tissue culture regimes, maintaining stocks and solutions and monitoring and cleaning equipment to facilitate the efficient operation of the laboratory.


Classifications for this position will range from classification range BU1-BU8 ($58,047.60- $74,848.80 per annum).

Your Contribution

  • Certificate or Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), a Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Operations, or equivalent.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Ability to organise work schedules to meet daily laboratory commitments.

  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Victorian Cancer Cytogenetic Service
The Victorian Cancer Cytogenetics Service is a referral centre for cancer cytogenetics within the state of Victoria and is part of St. Vincent’s Pathology. We perform chromosome analysis, FISH and microarray testing on haematological malignancy and cancer samples to aid in the diagnosis and prognostication of these disorders.
