Reinsurance accountant

• Reinsurance Accounting
The Reinsurance Accountant is responsible for reconciling reinsurance transactions. This involves ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected and properly documented.
o Once treaties are bound, ensure that all invoices are set up properly (frequency and amount) based on reinsurance treaty
o Develop a standard for clearing up all unallocated cash
o Excess of loss
 Process all payments allocating to premiums and brokerage, process any reinstatement premiums 
 As soon as reasonably possible, track annual adjustment premiums and set up necessary invoice; when contractually requirements state that adjustments are due, follow up with broker if ample time has passed and adjustments have not been made; process any additional premium received or set up payment of return premiums ensuring that Minimum Premiums are adhered to
o Pro Rata
 Complete quota share template and process all premiums
 Where gaps exist in reporting (and not found in any outstanding emails), contact broker for missing reports; underwriters would be available to assist if discussions with broker admin and accounting does not solve the missing reports
 Ensure that all reporting and payments for all accounts are received from the broker within contractual terms
 Document any changes to subject base and adjust invoices accordingly
o Implement process to reconcile system information with information provided by the broker
