Job Description:

The Role

As a Team Lead for ECS Application Security, you’ll combine deep engineering expertise with a passion for developing high-performing teams. In our agile, cloud-first environment, you’ll set technical standards, influence strategic decisions, and deliver enterprise-scale application security solutions that keep the firm cybersafe. You’ll mentor engineers and analysts to design and implement secure, scalable systems that enable innovation while protecting our customers. Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Define and drive team strategy, roadmap, and vision.

  • Mentor and develop engineers and analysts, fostering technical growth and professional development.

  • Manage workforce planning and performance goals aligned to business priorities.

Delivery & Execution

  • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Responsible for defining and owning roadmap and vision.

  • Accountable for the delivery of the roadmap, clearly defining and articulating the evolutionary steps/milestones to achieve the overall vision. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure impactful, customer-focused outcomes.

Engineering Excellence

  • Drive Secure-SDLC adoption, including secrets management, SAST, SCA, and DAST where appropriate.

  • Improve automation, test coverage, release velocity, and production health.

  • Own and enforce technical standards, code reviews, and architectural guidance.

Strategic Influence & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with leadership across engineering, business, and operations teams to align on security priorities.

  • Lead data-driven decisions on trade-offs, capacity planning, and risk.

  • Communicate clearly, deliver updates, rationales, blockers, and outcomes to peers and senior leaders.

Continuous Improvement & Thought Leadership

  • Stay ahead of emerging threats, tools, and frameworks.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through metrics, retrospectives, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years in IT and 5+ years in people & technical leadership.

  • Proven track record delivering scalable, cloud-native software with Secure-SDLC practices.

  • Strong foundation in systems architecture, SDLC, Agile, AWS, and DevSecOps.

  • Data-driven mindset, experience driving strategic decisions through analytics and metrics.

  • Excellent communicator and influencer; skilled in stakeholder and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Passion for coaching, able to elevate junior and senior team members alike.

  • Practical experience setting strategic vision and delivering on roadmaps.

  • Expertise in application security tools a plus e.g. secrets scanning, SAST, DAST, SCA.
