(Children/Youth Inpatient) Psychiatric Health Facility

Starting Compensation:

17.46 - 22.20 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Bakersfield, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm

What you bring to SBHG:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate Degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science or related field preferred.
  • (2) years’ experience in a mental health setting Preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Experience with case management services preferred.

How you will make a difference:

  • Participates in initial assessments and obtains outpatient treatment provider information, options, and resources.
  • Verifies follow-up appointments and collaborates with follow up treatment and step-down services.
  • Conducts groups to assist patients with transition to outpatient/community-based services.
  • Collaborates with PHF staff and caregivers to plan for and schedule discharge.
  • Provide community resources and psychoeducation. Submits discharge packets to referred agencies.
  • Documents all services provided in a clear and concise manner within the Electronic Medical Record within the timelines and framework established.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, hospital visits, etc. as needed.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external partners, including DBH and DSS and outpatient providers.

Division/Program Overview:

  • 24/7 inpatient involuntary program
  • 16-bed facility for acute youth (ages 5-17)
  • Intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans
  • Available for contracting Central Valley counties
  • Moves clients through five phases: admission; engagement; learning; stabilization and linkage to resources and aftercare
