Tarleton State University is seeking an experienced and passionate customer service-oriented, highly collaborative, human resources professional to fill vacancy in the employment support team. The ideal candidate will possesses minimum qualifications and a strong ability to work well within a team.
Under the general direction of the Director for Employment Support, the Human Resources Staffing Specialist II, provides university wide customer support and guidance related to student employment, graduate employment, and adjunct faculty employment processes while providing general customer service to visitors and customers. Compiles reports and documents and analyses data for validity, accuracy, and processes correction of integration errors. Oversees, coordinates, and evaluates new student hire request submissions. Develops and maintains standard operation procedures specific to the student hire, graduate assistant hire, and adjunct pre-hire processes and related tasks. Serves as a member of the employment support team and serves on projects or initiatives as appropriate.
This position may work remotely on a regular basis, with a minimum of expected in office presence of at least three days per week. Work hours: Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM or as work requirements indicate. Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours; work hours may vary during peak season.
Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.
Job Description
Documents, administers, and revises human resources standard operating procedures specific to student hire, graduate assistant hire process and adjunct hire workflow based on internal guidelines, policies, and relevant regulations. Assists in the planning, developing, revising, and implementing of current student hiring processes.
Student employment, Graduate Assistant employment, and Adjunct employment: Manages end-to-end direct hire process from initial request through onboarding. Ensures process consistency and data validity. Assists in the new employee onboarding. Monitors hire submissions for accuracy and works with hiring departments, payroll, benefits, and other data specialists to resolve errors.
Receives staffing actions for student workers, graduate assistants, and adjunct faculty, prepares, and collects required documentation, reviews and approves actions in HRIS (Workday) or sends back to requestor for correction. Sorts and organizes data as appropriate.
Maintains and processes records in HRIS (Workday) and employee personnel files. Maintains accurate employment files and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborates with various departments to support the student, graduate, and adjunct faculty experience. Develops, presents, and revises student hiring trainings to hiring managers and staffing support personnel.
Compiles and prepares reports for financial aid representatives to assist with federally funded employment initiatives and programs such as federal work study and intern to learn programs.
Compiles internal personnel reports, termination error logs, and compensation reports for review, analysis, and application to provide accurate and timely data to stakeholders.
Assists in separation processing and facilitates the development of filing systems, retention, and disposal schedules. Ensures compliance with Records Retention requirements for termed employees.
Maintains secure file retainment and follows university processes for protecting confidential information.
Serves as primary point of contact for all new student workers, graduate assistants, and adjunct faculty and assists with pre-hire actions.
Provides training and guidance to human resource specialist I team members.
Serves as primary back-up for front desk support. Works with Employment, Benefits, and Employee Development teams to ensure delivery of customer service. Provides complex and detailed information necessary for daily office operations. Assists with Tier 1 level HR-related inquiries and delegates Tier 2 level HR-related inquiries to human resource partners.

Minimum Qualifications
Education – bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – two years of related experience

Salary Range
The target base annual salary range is $49,000 to $68,330.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
