Video Editor (Formats)

Location: Metro Headquarters – London
Position: Permanent 

 

Metro brings news, sport, entertainment, food/drink and gaming content to a fast-growing global audience and we’re looking for a Video Editor to help to build a strong Metro voice across our video output and drive success to make content commercially viable.

Role Responsibilities

• Edit original videos to be distributed across multiple social platforms.
• Tell powerful stories through effective editing techniques, including the creation of attention-grabbing hooks.
• Craft stories to feel native to the platforms they are posted on.
• Share edit knowledge and experience with the team, including shortcuts and ‘hacks’ to make workflows more efficient.
• Level-up our on-screen graphics, edit style and text options.
• Have a sharp eye for detail, including grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to travel to shoots, if required.

 

Experience

• Editing experience in a news/media environment.
• Proficient using the full Adobe suite, particularly Premiere Pro.
• Experience editing social-first content across multiple platforms.
• Understanding of legal covenants such as the UK Editors’ Code of Practice, media law, copyright law and editorial guidelines in the UK and globally
• Filming experience for social media platforms is a bonus.
