Job Description:
We are looking for a Retirement & Savings Consultant to join our Total Rewards team in Corporate HR to support our employees to achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. The role provides subject matter and analytical expertise for our retirement & savings programs and the opportunity to provide team support with our benefits and well-being programs. This is a an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, collaborative, ambitious and data-focused team to deliver our HR initiatives, focused on providing a modern, compelling, and integrated experience for our employees.
What will you do?
Be the subject matter expertise for our Retirement and Savings Programs including three registered defined benefit pension plans, three retirement compensation arrangements, two defined contribution pension plans, a group RRSP, a group savings plan, TFSA and the Stock Ownership Program
Investigate and resolve complex issues from employees and retirees in a timely manner
Partner with internal departments and external service providers to ensure the overall efficiency of our programs and resolve any issues in a timely manner
Deliver foundational projects and assignments with limited support from Director, Retirement and Saving Plans, projects including (but not limited to): benefit calculations, benefit statements, year-end processes and to support audit function
Focus on the employee experience and identify ongoing opportunities to educate, enhance and innovate our programs to promote financial literacy and wellness
Ensure accurate process documents are maintained with timely updates reflecting newly passed legislation and/or contractual changes
Continuously improve processes and identify automation / optimization opportunities to communications, administrative systems and procedures, where applicable
Implement program changes, communications and administrative policies and process changes
Conduct data analysis and create graphs and charts using Excel to illustrate the successfulness of project / initiative outcomes
Assist with cross-team support for Total Benefits (health, dental and insurance products, wellness)
What do you need to succeed?
Knowledge and thorough understanding of retirement and savings products, including defined benefit pension plans
Familiar with Canadian pension legislation and the Income Tax Act (retirement related regulations)
Working knowledge of benefit products is an asset
Strong background manipulating data and data analytics in Excel (i.e. creating charts, graphs and pivot tables and conducting v-lookups)
A continuous improvement mindset where you are constantly asking the question, ‘’Could we do this work more effectively (using different processes, digital tools, in a shorter timeframe,..)”?
Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information into a clear and understandable format
Excellent research, analysis and problem solving skills
Creative and innovative thinker, with a passion for improving employee experiences
Strong project management and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong relationship management skills and able to work with a diverse range of people
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or equivalent life experience
3+ years of related experience
CEBS designation and/or working toward CHRP designation is an asset
Workday and Globalview experience is an asset
Ability to communicate in French is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
