Associate Software Engineer

As part of the Platform Engineering organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing cloud native applications and services focusing on SaaS tools. This group is nimble and creative and will shape our technology roadmap.  This role will be instrumental to enabling the current and future world of DevOps and SaaS tools at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to delivery against existing and future needs of our customers.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Associate Software Engineer you will be responsible to:

  • Write new code, makes modifications to existing or integrate in accordance with agreed-upon specifications.
  • Ability to understand low-complexity business requirements and translate them into coding.
  • Actively participates and collaborates in meetings, processes, agile ceremonies and interaction with other technology groups.
  • Ability to interpret code and solve problems based on existing good practices and standards.
  • Participates in the code review process for learning purposes.
  • Acts on the correction of incidents identified by the continuous code quality inspection tool.
  • Need for moderate guidance and review in carrying out activities.
  • Delivers end-to-end technical solutions for multiple products or complex projects.
  • Solves complex problems with minimal guidance.
  • Design, develop and test software systems and/or applications for enhancements.
  • Writes code according to specifications established for software solutions.
  • Delivers software features with exceptional quality, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, work processes, investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • 1+ Years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering or similar.
  • Knowledge in C# /.Net Core/ Angular.
  • Experience with rest APIs.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SCRUM agile methodology.
  • GitHub and ADO.
  • Preferred but not required experience with:
    • Angular 9 (and/or later)
    • AngularJS
    • Wijmo
    • Angular UI Bootstrap
    • Migrating from AngularJS to Angular
    • Writing unit test cases using Jasmine / Karma
