Your role is in the Tools & Capabilities, Data Lineage team.  You will be responsible for the definition of the strategy, business and control requirements, user experience, implementation roadmap, prioritization of the backlog, oversight of the product development and release for data lineage related solutions such as data lineage for the critical data elements in motion between files or systems, their relationships in data models, transformations that may occur, relevant technical metadata.  In addition, you will partner with the Data Operations team to ensure the Data Lineage capabilities are adopted by the end users and the data collected via these capabilities is maintained by respective functions or teams.

You will collaborate with partners across lines of businesses and functions, navigating the organization and figuring out who is needed to get things done. You will gather and interpret the requirements of those own the processes that are dependent on our solutions, applying your insight and experience to identify synergies and dependencies across stakeholders and delivery streams. You will use your influence skills to establish a strong sense of working together towards a shared vision and goals. You will have a holistic view to ensure that your initiatives tie back to our overarching data strategy. You should be a critical thinker who can connect what may initially seem like disparate threads. You can step into an ambiguous situation, identify the end goal, and lay out the roadmap to get there.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the strategy and roadmap aligns with and supports Citi’s Data Transformation commitments.
  • Ensure the implementation supports our Data Governance & Management processes and procedures interim and target states.
  • Identify, pilot and as needed, implement automated solutions using tools, Gen AI / ML.
  • Gather, rationalize, and prioritize requirements from business Data Offices, finance, risk, operations, and technology use cases.
  • Lead efforts to develop data lineage user journeys and experiences.
  • Connect and manage dependencies across all delivery streams and dependent execution streams.
  • Ensure workstreams get consistent direction and oversight across streams.
  • Ensure milestones are properly understood, communicated, tracked, and delivered on.
  • Establish metrics and reporting to measure and certify data quality improvement.
  • Ensure regional limitations, such as country-specific data restrictions or needs, are represented in the Global capability definition.
  • Drive capability adoption.
  • Ensure data collected via these capabilities is maintained.
  • Day-to-day focus is on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Skills Required:

  • 15 years or more experience in delivering business change solutions.
  • Practical experience with data governance and/or management, data lineage, addressing data issues, etc. in business and/or technology roles.
  • Practical experience technology and data related Product Management and/or IT and Data Architecture and/or a Business Analyst.
  • Excellent understanding of data design methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills, ability to influence outcomes.
  • Relationship management skills – ability to develop and sustain positive partnerships.
  • Ability to quickly understand and address problems as they arise.
  • Ability to document and present proposals at various levels within the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical knowledge of database solutions a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Good understanding of end user experience.
  • Practical experience as a product owner or delivery lead.
  • Practical experience in metadata management.
  • Practical experience in major, data-related transformation initiatives.
  • Practical experience with a variety of database and data processing technologies (relational, document, graph, traditional ETL tools, stream processing frameworks, etc.)
  • Practical experience with data modelling - Conceptual/Logical/Physical, entity and/or object oriented, UML & OMG MOF standards, metamodels.
  • Practical experience with driving usage of the functionality / capabilities delivered.

Who We Are

The Tools & Capabilities Product Owner team is one of the key functions / teams in the Chief Data Office (CDO) organization. We cover product ownership for the strategic data platforms as well as the foundational data capabilities required to fulfil the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and Standards. We collaborate with other functions in the CDO, business Data Offices, Finance, Business Operations, Risk Controls, and Technology to ensure we have a holistic view of requirements and priority.  Together, we execute comprehensively to meet regulatory commitments and reduce Citi’s Data Management risks.

Within Tools & Capabilities, our team is responsible for Data Lineage foundational capabilities, user experience and adoption of implemented capabilities.  Data Lineage represents data in motion and will include high-level / conceptual (coarse grain) and table / field level (fine grain) aspects of data flowing through applications or systems.  We collaborate with teams to determine the requirements and priorities to build these capabilities on the strategic data platforms.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
