Here’s what you will do:
- Identify, develop, and complete new commercial opportunities as well as manage existing customer accounts for Gas Transmission (GTM).
- Identify, conceptualize, qualify, and market growth projects ranging in size from $50 million to billions of dollars with similarly scaled Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) expectations all in support of the Enbridge GTM strategy.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and partners.
- Build appropriate marketing materials and market opportunities to prospective customers.
- Develop and manage open season processes where applicable.
- Conduct direct contract negotiations with existing and prospective customers and gather department support throughout the entire negotiation cycle for full due diligence activities.
- Act as negotiation lead with customers to secure commercial backstop of new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships while successfully building consensus on business development initiatives across several internal departments, including but not limited to – Regulatory, Legal, Engineering, System Planning, Project Development, Economic Evaluation, Marketing, Contracts, and Commercial Operations.
- Provide regular internal updates on business development initiatives to up to and including senior leaders.
- Market development opportunities to prospective customers, developing and managing processes where applicable and negotiating terms with customers and partners.
- Maintain working knowledge of commercial operations, customer, and competitive landscape for Enbridge’s gas markets.
- Support the Senior Leader/People Leader, Business Development & Marketing in the development of strategic planning and initiatives, including discussions and presentations to senior management of the company including up to GTM Chief Commercial Officer.
- Responsible for leading specific commercial aspects of our projects in execution including negotiation of interconnect agreements and management of those for our large projects.
- Generate incremental (and existing) customer business through new expansion project development and execution including assisting in M&A strategy.
- Provide support for Mergers & Acquisition endeavors as required.
Who you are:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Must have nine (9) years of experience as a Business Specialist or similar role.
- The nine (9) years of employment experience must be business development experience, or other customer-supplier relationship management experience within the pipeline industry supporting sales, marketing, supply chain management, or similar externally facing roles including project development and contracts management; commercial operations, sales, marketing, or similar externally facing experience. Two (2) of the nine (9) years of experience must have included interstate pipeline industry experience.
- Travel up to 15% US and Canada required
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
