Job Purpose

Category: Pre-filled syringes (PFS)

Accountable for all sourcing and contract management for 1PFS. This will include the development and implementation of category strategies.

Lead key 1PFS programs as part of the category strategy deployment; the management of supplier relationships (BD, Schott and Stevanato Group) and ensuring the suppliers key to their category(ies) commit to deliver GSK’s performance/quality/financial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manages or supports one or two categories/commodities
  • May work across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness, but operate with medium to lower spend
  • Complex sourcing and category management role in GSK

Strategy Development

  • Lead the development, management and implementation of comprehensive strategies on a global or regional basis that deliver the business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation.

Strategy Implementation

  • Negotiates contracts with suppliers that secure favourable terms for procurement of goods and services contracts in line with the agreed business requirements.
  • Lead strategic relationships with critical suppliers providing secure and cost-effective sources for relevant commodities.
  • Lead and implement key projects to support savings delivery or risk mitigation

Business partnering & stakeholder management in GSK

  • Build strategic relationships with GSK stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly
  • Represent the category on relevant strategy development and supply chain forums

External supplier relationships

  • Manage the supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured.
  • Requires significant external supplier knowledge

Supply chain & risk management

  • Lead development and implementation of Risk Mitigation strategies to ensure security of supply.
  • Awareness and adherence to risk/ regulatory/ compliance requirements
  • Balance both strategic and operational requirements, managing any supply interruptions that may occur
  • Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance; supports the negotiation process, maintains contracts and relationships

Business Strategy

  • Champions the sourcing group management process and policies across functions and links these to GSK's strategic direction
  • Knows and utilises complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • University Degree in one of the following areas: Procurement, Business or Finance
  • Relevant experience in procurement
  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills.
  • English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus
  • Leadership/communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Master Degree in one of the following areas: Procurement, Business or Finance
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong Influencing skills
