The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy services for patients, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. A caregiver in this role will float between our Carrolton and Tuscarawas office locations and has the ability to cover various shifts that may need orthopaedic and neuro-based treatment sessions.

This is a PRN position, meaning the caregiver needs to be available on an as-needed basis.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
Administer patient centered physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Observe, communicate and document patient progress and response to treatment.
Plan, organize and implement individualized therapeutic programs with patient/family, incorporating evidence-based practice.
Provide education on physical therapy related subjects to patients, clients, caregivers, hospital personnel and the community.
Act as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Associate degree or certificate
Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
