Overall Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable and highly-available RESTful APIs using Node.js technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new features
- Debug and troubleshoot Node.js applications
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Node.js best practices and technologies
- Continuously improve application performance and scalability
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of Node.js applications
Technical Skills:
Backend Development:
- Excellent knowledge of Node.js development
- Minimum 7 years of coding experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and Databases
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in TypeScript
- Practical experience with GraphQL
- Well-versed with CI/CD principles and experience in solving and troubleshooting issues in a distributed services ecosystem
- Understanding of containerization, experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to API gateway integrations like 3Scale
- Understanding of Single-Sign-on or token-based authentication (Rest, JWT, oAuth)
- Possess expert knowledge of task/message queues including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Pushpin, and Kafka
Front-End Development:
- Good understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of coding experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and Databases
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in TypeScript
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring
- Experience in banking, financial, and fintech sectors in an enterprise environment preferred
- Experience in Agile methodology
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Write and test Node.js code
- Debug and troubleshoot Node.js applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new features
- Ensure seamless deployment and operation of Node.js applications
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Node.js best practices and technologies
- Continuously improve application performance and scalability
Qualifications:
- Degree or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
Soft Skills:
- Able to influence multiple teams on technical considerations, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and experience
- Self-motivator and self-starter with the ability to own and drive tasks without supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organization
