Summary of Job Duties:

We are looking for a Child Care Teacher II, to work at Head Start/Early Head Start program. The Child Care Teacher II, will be responsible for planning and implementing a daily program for the children in the center. The Child Care Teacher II, will also be responsible for supervising the children and ensuring their safety at all times.


Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Public Health, Health or related field of study plus one (1) year experience in health related, Early Childhood Education or related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning, both through physical classroom materials and instructional activities.
  • Implement approved regular goals while utilizing techniques necessary to motivate learning in small children.
  • Make regular assessments of instructional materials for classroom and communicate need of replacement or repair as needed.
  • Supervises students in all activities both inside and outside the classroom. Ensure that everything is in place in case of your absence.
  • Identifies achievement levels of each student and provide ongoing evaluation of progress.
  • Identifies and access behavioral concerns requiring involvement of program resource staff.
  • Establishes and maintain continuous communication between parents and staff. Encourages parent involvement to increase literacy skills and classroom participation. Become thoroughly knowledgeable of all required program standards and regulations and adhere to same.
  • Participates in school sponsored activities; attend faculty staff meeting as required.
  • Maintains all required documentation.
  • Maintains the child/staff ratio.
  • All duties as assigned.
