About This Opportunity 

The University of Queensland School of Dentistry is seeking expressions of interest from casual academics to be engaged on a casual basis.

Casual Academics at the School of Dentistry play a significant part in the overall student experience and assist in the teaching and delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Responsibilities as a Casual Academic may include (but are not limited to):  

  • Preparing and delivering guest lecturers, workshops, seminars and tutorials.
  • Undertaking marking of assessment tasks, as directed by course coordinators, with hours for marking to be confirmed by School Administration staff prior to commencing marking.

Casual academic positions are based at both the Herston and St Lucia Campuses and successful appointees may be required to attend on campus.

Our Ideal Candidate 

The School welcomes applications from candidates who possess appropriate qualifications and experience within the dental industry. High-achieving postgraduate coursework and research higher degree students are also invited to apply.

As part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences, the School of Dentistry offers the Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) program and specialist post-graduate programs Doctor of Clinical Dentistry and the Doctor of Dental Medicine. The School of Dentistry also has a growing cohort of research higher degree students.
