About the Opportunity

If you are looking for your next role to have a direct impact on the digitalization of products and services, we have an excellent career opportunity for you to join Caterpillar’s Customer Solutions Core Regions’ Technology Sales and Service team in the ANZP region! 

In this role, you will be responsible to drive Core Industry Technology Adoption across the ANZ territory. Additionally, you will support application and job studies, communicate product and market information to the Product Group, manage NPI process and participate on the market strategy team.

Specifically, you can expect to do:

  • Provide product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company and dealers' sales personnel.

  • Conduct product performance studies, assess customer job sites efficiency, collecting product and customer requirements in order to capitalize opportunities for incremental sales to create business case for product improvement process and new product introduction program.

  • Manage the marketing technology tools/systems and works with key stakeholders to develop a marketing technology product roadmap to drive business growth.

  • Collaborate with other internal teams to get alignment on timelines, understanding marketing goals, and developing the marketing technology product roadmap.

  • Oversee Percent of Industry Sales (PINS) trends, industry outlook, demand fluctuation and customer requirements.

  • Technical Excellence – strong product and application knowledge

  • Customer focus, Relationship Management – ability to maintain productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors

  • Effective Communications - ability to deliver clear and effective communications, including preparation and delivery of public presentations, that successfully engage diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Value Selling –ability to translate offerings and solutions into dollarised customer benefits

  • Negotiation skills –ability to negotiate successfully across the organisation and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner

Education and experience:

  • University degree preferably in engineering, business or marketing

  • Extensive commercial experience involving dealer and/or customer facing positions (10+ years)

  • Background in dealership or OEM environments

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Regional industry expertise

  • Previous experience of working in a multinational company and collaborating with a global team

  • Strong technical experience in Machine Control and Guidance, Telematics, Machine Technology Systems and Civil Construction.

Additional information:

  • Travel: requires up to 50% travel across the assigned territory

  • The role is posted in our offices in Melbourne and Brisbane

  • This position requires working onsite five days a week

  • No international relocation support – Australia domestic relocation support is available.

About Customer Solutions Core Regions Division

The Customer Solutions Core Regions Division is committed to solving customer challenges that extend beyond purchasing machines and parts. This team, alongside dealers, will engage closely with customers, to create, customize and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing. The division will be regionally on the unique needs of customers in core regions, focused on Americas North, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
