Serve as a strategic financial advisor to Transportation executives in the development of short- and medium-term strategy. Support the business: leading forecasting, planning and close activities for a segment of the transportation business; performing variance analysis and providing insights to operators on business performance; and providing financial modeling and strategic support for new transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage driver-based forecasting process that incorporates business risks, industry trends and shifts in transportation strategy. Deliver insightful reporting to business partners that addresses variances between actuals and forecast
  • Collaborate across transportation, merchandising and finance to deploy large-scale projects to improve transportation performance
  • Lead annual operating plan (AOP). Manage finance partners, support teams and business in building an informed plan. Develop project plan to meet deadlines, align stakeholders and propose improvements
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  • Dive into the details and understand what’s driving the transportation business at a granular level. Identify trends within the data and support operational execution.
  • Provide financial and strategic support for senior management on short-to-medium term strategy. Assist in the discovery process, generate supporting financial models and support operational execution
  • Offer leadership and guidance to one direct report, ensuring their professional growth, performance, and success in their role

  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and reporting, driving efficiency and accuracy
  • Project manage complex financial projects from inception to completion, partnering across Walmart and influencing non-finance leaders, ensuring timely delivery, and effective management of risks and resources.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making. Demonstrate the ability to understand and translate data needs to more technical partners, ensuring data-driven approaches to optimize financial performance.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the inbound transportation business, its challenges, and industry dynamics to provide valuable insights and recommendations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, anticipating their needs and proactively providing financial guidance and support
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Continuously improve communication skills to effectively articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Take ownership of business performance, identifying and implementing initiatives to exceed financial targets

  • Improving Processes – Identify and fix gaps and inefficiencies in current processes to increase agility, accuracy, connectivity between functions, and proactive action while mitigating risks
  • Showcasing Financial Leadership - Contribute to the development and growth of the finance team by sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and promoting a culture of excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 6+ years’ experience in accounting, finance
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Transportation or Supply Chain experience a plus but not required
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, time management, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail and results-oriented with sense of urgency

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
