As a Clinical Pharmacist – Internal Medicine, you will serve as a decentralized pharmacist embedded within the internal medicine care team, rounding daily with providers and collaborating closely with nurses, support staff, leadership, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. In this role, you will provide direct clinical pharmacy services, contribute to patient-centered care decisions, and support safe and effective medication use. You will also participate in precepting students and learners while playing an active role in advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and high-quality inpatient care.

A caregiver in this role will work predominately day shifts with one holiday per year and every 5th weekend.
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. 
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.  
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. 
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. 
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. 
  • Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. 
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy 
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Board Certification  
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience 
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology)
