This position will be based 100% onsite at the corporate office in Irving, TX.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and business-oriented technology attorney to join our highly collaborative in-house legal team. In this role, you will provide legal support primarily to our Information Technology department as well as provide counsel on a broad range of enterprise-wide technology initiatives. You will advise internal stakeholders on, and negotiate matters related to, software licensing, SaaS agreements, hardware procurement, managed service providers (MSPs), artificial intelligence (AI), and IT-related compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help manage legal workflow for IT and technology projects.
• Advise business on legal issues, complexities and risk mitigation associated with technology and AI.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of technology-related agreements, including:
  • SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS agreements;
  • Software licenses (on-premise and cloud-based);
  • Hardware procurement and maintenance contracts; and
  • Master service agreements and SOWs with MSPs and other IT vendors.

• Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with IT, strategic sourcing, information security, and privacy subject matter experts to align contracts with enterprise architecture, compliance, and operational needs.
• Help develop strategy and governance around AI.
• Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and compliance audits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred).
• 3-5 years of legal experience, with at least 2 years focused on technology transactions (in-house or law firm) preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial and contract law as it applies to software, hardware, cloud computing, and managed services.
• Experience supporting retail or consumer-facing businesses is a plus.
