Position Title: Dental Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent, Part time
Hours per week: 24 hours per week
Position Grade: Dental Assistant Grade 2 (Year 1-4)
Salary: $69,477.00 - $76,145.00 AUD (pro-rata) base salary per annum
Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Professional and Associated Staff Agreement 2022

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the SVHN Dental Service.

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated qualified Dental Assistant with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality person-centred care. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to provide professional chair-side assistance to the Dentist and Reception / administration duties.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. Completion of Dental Assisting Certificate (Level II) or equivalent qualification.
3.Experience working in Public or Private Dental practice involving administration and reception duties.
4. Effective written, verbal and computer skills.
5.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team.
6.Detailed knowledge of infection control procedures.
7.Demonstrated capability in patient assessment, clinical skills and adult oral health education.
8.Knowledge of quality improvement principles.
