Under broad supervision, responsible for a range of moderately complex engineering tasks in new product development projects associated with design proposals, testing, feasibility analysis, mathematical modeling, sample building, manufacturing processes assessment, etc. to develop and implement new methods, designs and products. Writes engineering specifications and interprets/analyses test results. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.

Objective

This position is responsible for leading various Engineering Projects, including new product development, line extension projects & VAVE initiatives.

 

Role Product Development Engineer

Experience: 3-5 years of filtration experience in water or similar industry.

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent.

Education: BE/ME in Mechanical/chemical Engineering (M Tech in Polymer Technology / Chemical Engineering- Good to have)

 

Job Requirements

·       Successfully manage multiple projects with minimal supervision for product development of water filtration systems.

·       Plan and execute projects on time and on budget.

·       Lead cross-functional teams through the Stage Gate based product development process.

·       Communicate effectively with internal (sales, marketing, quality, operations, management) and external (customers, vendors) stakeholders.

·       Create requirements documentation, drawings, labels, etc.

·       Quickly learn new technologies, processes, and systems.

·       Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.

·       Conduct root cause analysis and utilize problem-solving tools to resolve issues.

·       Support Quality in conducting root cause analysis on returned products and complaints.

·       Make objective, data-driven decisions and organize documentation to support them.

 

Experience and Requirements

·       3-5 years of product development experience in a manufacturing environment- preferably in water filtration, consumer goods, or high-volume engineered products.

·       Applies engineering analysis, material selection, and design best practices to develop robust, manufacturable filtration products that meet performance and regulatory requirements.

·       Experience in interacting with international teams and customer-facing engineering support.

·       Familiarity with change control, document management systems, and competitive benchmarking.

·       Background in certification testing, material selection, and design validation is desirable.

·       Solid understanding of product development workflows and the Stage Gate process.

·       Experience applying Lean principles, quality tools, and design-for-manufacturing methods.

·       Proficient in CAD software; SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.

·       Competence with regulatory and certification processes (e.g., NSF/ANSI standards) is an asset.

·       Excellent communication and documentation skills.

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and project management platforms like Monday.com.
