Qualifications Required:

 Bachelor’s Degree, 12 to 15+ years’ experience in Telecom/IT infrastructure or large

construction project management related experience.

 Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, key

initiatives, and deadlines simultaneously.

 PMP, RCDD or similar Telecommunications, structured cabling Certification & experience

preferred

Responsibilities

 Project Management

o Drives new or retrofit Data Centre capacity Delivery Telecom & integrated

Infrastructure as per the committed timelines.

o Assists site teams to establish goals for project teams, assigning responsibilities,

measuring performance, and seeking and delivering feedback to achieve timely

results.

o Vendor & Material Management

o Assist in Project tracking by reporting project progress regarding scope, schedule,

standards & budget.

o Completing execution of Telecom Infrastructure and the scope as per Microsoft

Standards

 Technical Acumen

o Reviews engineering documentation/designs, site, and building plans by examining

and analysing technical information.

o Identifies potential risks/gaps and provides recommendations to project teams that

mitigates risk and improves overall constructability.

o Aligns project/program delivery with execution procedures and standards and

ensures alignment with organizational standards and commitments.

 Safety and Regulation

o Represents Microsoft as a safety leader and advocate on all campus/metro

construction programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory

requirements (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], or

equivalent) to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risk.

o Conducts routine safety program, project, and contractor audits, and performs and

participates in incident investigations.

 Risk Mitigation

o Communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or

scorecards to track, communicate, and drive progress.

o Suggests actions to support organizational and national safety goals.

The other responsibilities of the ITIM VPM include, but are not limited to:

o The VPM will manage physical infrastructure and telecom deployment including the racks

and integration work as part of the scope, IT cabling in copper and fiber infrastructure and

end to end patching based on the provided telecom design. The supporting design for

mechanical, electrical security and associated works for each project will be provided.

o The VPM will act as the general Microsoft point of contact for the fit out works between the

contractor, landlord and Microsoft ITIM.

o The VPM will support the Microsoft ITIM in providing reporting and direction on the

project. The VPM will provide weekly report to Microsoft ITIM confirming, open actions,

risk issues for review, items requiring input, confirmation, or resolution from the Microsoft

stakeholder group.

o The VPM will direct and assess change management process with guidance from the

Microsoft ITIM, where items have impacted scope and or program and report against the

completion and hand over program,

o The VPM will review the progress of the works against the agreed completion program with

the contract team and advise/report on delivery and interface requirements between long

lead equipment suppliers and the contract team.

o The VPM will also provide weekly update call with the Microsoft ITIM, running through open

actions requiring escalation or input from the Microsoft ITIM, or Microsoft group.

o The VPM will facilitate weekly remote or onsite meetings confirming outstanding actions,

and managing interface between Microsoft appointed contractors, long lead equipment

suppliers and Microsoft ITIM.

o The VPM will confirm point of interface between landlord, Microsoft ITIM and the general

contractor and long lead equipment suppliers.

o The VPM will assist with logistic management for Microsoft.

o The VPM will provide reporting on site safety and enforcement of best practice approach

for Microsoft in running the works for Microsoft.
