Main purpose of the position
To carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost effective manner, maintaining documentation of all works carried out in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.

Main Duties and Accountabilities
• To find, diagnose and rectify faults on customer FLT’s as deemed necessary, with all that this entails, and order the necessary spare parts as efficiently as possible
• To provide reliable information to the customer with regards to maintenance, consultation on repairs and to provide advice on the use of equipment.
• To adhere to all company H&S and Environmental and site policies, procedures and practices and ensure we operate in an environmentally safe workplace.
• Ensure automated system and all paperwork (job sheets, timesheets and purchase requisitions and parts paperwork) /IT systems are completed accurately and within the stipulated time period and with the relevant order numbers
• Liaise with the first line of management for authorisation of parts and process order numbers accordingly
• To liaise with the Service Controller, customer and Service Manager to ensure information regarding individual forklifts and equipment is shared including damage or requests for a replacement truck in the event of a long repair, as well as keeping all relevant parties up to date with the progress of work activities
• To make proposals for the improvement of the implementation of work activities and work conditions
• To ensure all allocated work is adhered to and to notify Manager or Controller if in arrears
• Ensure that the specified Engineering Standards and Safe Working Practices and all Company Policies and Procedures are followed at all times.
• To ensure that all stock levels/movement records are accurate and correct
• To obtain hour meter readings /site information as requested by Controllers and at every visit.
• Ensure all company issued equipment and tooling (including van, laptop, printer etc) is kept in a satisfactory, clean and safe condition and report any failures
• To work closely with the sales & STR team and refer leads
• To work to strict planned schedules and deadlines
• To take responsibility for van weight and safe/roadworthy condition before use.
• To work to and understand KPI’s relating to service, admin and stock
• To take on any reasonable additional duties as required by the Manager to ensure the smooth running of the department
• To actively participate in training days, work meetings and other meetings for the exchange of information.
• Any other duties which arise as a result of duties as above

Required functional competencies / experience / qualifications
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent associated occupation
• Electrical hydraulic and/or mechanical competencies
• Hold a full and valid driving licence
• Good communication skills to liaise with customers and internal colleagues
• Sound IT knowledge/skills, eg. word, Excel, email
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work under own initiative without constant supervision
• Complete tasks to a high standard
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A positive and can-do attitude
• Flexible to adapt to the changing needs of the role
• Can plan, organise and prioritise job responsibilities
• Ability to deliver first class customer service at all times
