The Data Fabric Solutions (weblink) is part of Memory Solution Lab in Samsung Semiconductors, the industry's technology and volume leader in Storage and Memory devices.  The Data Fabric Solutions (DFS) group pioneers and creates comprehensive software solutions that optimize data flow efficiency, transformation, and performance for client’s data-intensive applications, leveraging Samsung’s world-leading SSDs, Memory, and Accelerators. As an integral part of Samsung’s strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine, they cater to diverse data fabric deployments

Specifically, team has opening for seasoned Software Product Owner who have experience in managing/leading complex SaaS (Software-as-a-service) products to design and productize innovative data fabric technology and solutions for the Cloud or Enterprise markets. He or she will join a team of experts in researching and developing innovative solutions that utilize existing and emerging technologies to add substantial value to Samsung.

The team covers a broad spectrum of topics and is building an ecosystem surrounding HBM, SSD and Non-volatile memory Software. You will be working with the-state-of-art technologies in the context of vertical integration and optimization across H/W, S/W and cloud applications.   You will be leading the software products leveraging latest technologies including HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), CXL (Compute Express Link), Flash/SSD, GPUs, high speed networking and others to research/build open-source software framework/eco-systems.  In addition, you will be working closely with internal cross-functional teams, partners and customers to drive the products to maturity.

What You’ll Do

  • Design & implement new features for innovative new devices and systems products targeted to Enterprise and Hyperscale & Cloud environments.
  • Design, implement and validate state-of-the art solutions that meet or exceed current and future products.
  • Ability to quickly develop proof of concept prototypes based on requirements.
  • Deliver software designs and code following prevalent SW development methodologies like Agile, Scrum etc., with high quality code.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 3 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

Reports to: Sr. Manager, SW Dev. Infrastructure

 What You Bring 

  • BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years of experience of system programming, software design, development, & debugging or a MS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years or PhD in engineering or related Science with 5+ years of experience.
  • Strong software engineering skills with writing efficient, maintainable and testable C/C++/Golang coding is required.
  • Experience in System software, CXL, device drivers and/or kernel programming is essential.
  • Experience with File Systems, Object Storage or similar storage technologies.
  • Experience in AI training/inferencing framework is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of the Linux Operating System and File Systems, memory management.
  • Good understanding Dockers, Containers and/or virtualization technologies.
  • Track record of innovation and creativity in problem solving.
  • Must be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a multinational environment and understands how to leverage cultural diversity.
  • Inherent technical curiosity
  • Good exposure to PyTorch and AI training/inferencing methods is a plus.

$157,000$243,000 USD
