Job Description Summary

The Onshore Wind fleet management organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical engineer who is ready to join a fast paced and hands on team in an exciting industry. This role will include resolving technical customer issues and ensuring delivery of customer objectives such as wind turbine availability (when can a turbine run) and production (how much power does it produce).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Use GE wind turbine operational knowledge and big data to support installed base customer issue resolution, fleet issue management, root cause analysis, and some product introduction and management
  • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, monitoring and diagnostics, fleet configuration.
  • Provide Technical Engineering Solutions / Repairs / Escalation for issues that have been problematic and escalated from Services team

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college and 2 years of experience in the Wind Turbine Industry
  • OR a High school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in the Wind Turbine Industry
  • 1 year of experience with turbine's mechanical sub-systems and systems integration

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Travel 10% for field troubleshooting & validation

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with mechanical subsystems (e.g., gearbox, main bearing, pitch bearing, bolted joints, yaw system, etc.) of a wind turbine.
  • Willing and able to climb and work at heights as needed
  • Strong Communications skills
  • Ability to present technical data in a succinct and clear manner
  • Technical Versatility, experience with wind turbine production and performance
  • Ability to learn technology outside of one's specialty
  • Strong Project Management Skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
