Job Summary

Job Description

Position entails

  • Standardizing and documenting all manufacturing procedures and processes.
  • Performing time studies, capability studies, Gage R&R’s, and other statistical analysis to verify and qualify production processes and equipment.
  • Participating in Lean Manufacturing improvement events (3Q6S, Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events).
  • Implementing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Improving existing processes or creating new ones that support operations, quality, and engineering functions and driving the facility toward optimal efficiency
  • Assisting with capital projects to increase capacity, improve material flow, reduce floor space requirements, and reduce costs.
  • Managing the installation and startup of new and rebuilt equipment.
  • Providing production support in the areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, inventory management, and cost optimization.
  • Designing fixtures and tooling.
  • Troubleshooting industrial equipment involving electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Creating and managing detailed project specifications and plans.
  • Ensuring safety is designed into all processes and implementing safety corrective actions necessary to eliminate safety risks.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Must be proficient with SolidWorks (or similar 3D modeling software), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be dependable and able to complete projects to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to apply creative and critical thinking to a variety of projects and programs with diverse scope and complexity
  • Experience with Microsoft Project a plus
  • 3D printing experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for learning

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate for Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical (ME or MET), Manufacturing, Industrial, Automation, or Electrical Engineering or a combination of relevant education and closely related work experience preferred
