The Senior HR Services Director for the Southern Region will lead and direct practices related to employee and labor relations, management consulting, talent development, change management, integration, workforce planning, policy administration and performance management. A caregiver in this role will support our Southern Ohio Region, including Mercy Hospital, Akron General Medical Center, Akron Lodi Community Hospital, Union Hospital and Medina Hospital.
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

  • Support the organization in its strategic goals. 

  • Lead a team of hospital-based HR Directors and HR Generalists to ensure consistent application of deliverables. 

  • Serve as a member of a regional leadership team to establish and cascade goals and metrics related to human resources and enterprise initiatives. 

  • Ensure that HR Directors develop and maintain effective working relationships with leaders and managers. 

  • Provide timely, effective and reliable communication to ensure HR Directors and HR Generalists are appropriately educated and informed of organizational initiatives and expectations. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field 

  • 10 years of functionally relevant HR experience, including 5 years of demonstrated management experience 

  • OR master’s degree in Hospital or Healthcare Administration plus 7 years of experience 

  • Possesses critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision 

  • Ability to operate a computer, audio/visual and other office equipment. 

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information, including ability to deliver applicable training in person and virtually 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Master’s degree or Juris Doctor degree 

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or other professional HR certification 

  • 5 years of hospital-based experience, demonstrating a basic understanding of hospital roles, operations, finance and communications

  • Experience with bargaining union negotiations
