State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) – Subacute Care Center

Euclid Hospital’s Subacute Care Center provides care to adult and geriatric patients in need of a short-term, hospital-based intensive skilled nursing or rehabilitation program, in preparation for discharge to the home or a community setting. Patients are typically admitted to the Subacute Care Center following an acute hospital stay and may consist of post-surgical patients as well as patients with medical diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, pneumonia, cerebrovascular accident, status post myocardial infarction, and more. 
 

A caregiver in this position works 7:00AM – 7:30PM.  
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.  

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.  

  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.  


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • A high school diploma or GED.  

  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). 

  • Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
