Major Job Functions:
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide operational and organizational leadership within the Digital Services Group and to the global development teams to:
Design, implement and operate platform-based application environments (40%)
Support the development and continuous improvement of the Global Digital Ops practice for digital platforms including MS Azure DevOps, IaC (Terraform), Kubernetes, Microservices, to ensure that software build, deployments, operation and governance meet stakeholder requirements (40%)
Establish and manage software release cycle using the latest Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques and technologies (10%)
Develop and maintain service level agreements with internal client groups, with a strong focus on service availability, proactive detection of problems, and meet regularly with stakeholders to ensure that requirements are being met (10%)
Accountabilities
Build, deliver and maintain environments required to operate for data and global analytics team, performance solutions team, and global digital solutions teams
Writing scripts to automate tasks for reliability and scalability
Contribute to the architecture, design, development and operations of highly scalable could services that are used within all regions of the company
Manage product releases against product release cycles
Ensuring environments are operating in accordance with the service level agreements
Shared ownership of the cloud-based products and services built in house with other Digital Ops Leads
To triage and resolve service-effecting application issues in accordance with service level agreements
Establishing and/or maintaining relationships with various vendors, partners and third party service providers (e.g. Longview, Rackspace, etc.)
Measure and report on the quality and velocity of software deployments delivered on an ongoing basis, including preparing diagrams, workflows and other specification to communicate technical design options
Monitor new trends and technologies for the purposes of evaluating, proposing and selecting new tools and processes that support continuous transformation in the digital environment
Knowledge:
Development and operational experience to customer facing B2B or retail verticals is highly preferred
Knowledge of provisioning, configuring, operating, and monitoring infrastructure and applications in both on-prem and cloud environments and automation
Strong knowledge of release management and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery techniques and technologies
Knowledge of Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), JIRA (project management in an agile environment), Git (repository software), Scrum framework
Well versed in process and project management practices
A deep understanding of Agile-driven software engineering and delivery to execute projects and optimize strategies
Big Data, Hadoop, and Hive
Distributed systems, networks, and storage
Container technologies and application platforms like Kubernetes and Mesos
Configuration Management Systems like Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible
Strong understanding of both relational database management systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases
Strong understanding and experience developing APIs and web service concepts such as REST, SOAP, and XML/JSON protocols and formats
Experience with digital marketing and ecommerce platforms (eg. Adobe Experience Manager, Oracle Eloqua and IBM WebSphere Commerce or SAP Hybris would be an asset)
Exposure to SAP ERP, CRM, BI, would be an asset
Education & Experience:
B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years of experience in a lead or manager role
Experience with improving software reliability and release predictability
Experience in cloud technologies (Azure, Force.com AWS.) and cloud services (build servers, release management, etc.)
Experience with Azure, Microsoft platform, as well as Visualforce, Apex, SalesForce DX and AEM
Experience with Hadoop, Hive, IoT, other big data tools and distributed systems, networks, storage, containers and container application platforms like Kubernetes and Mesos
Experience with Configuration Management Systems like Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible
Experience with network security technologies (e.g. firewalls, virtual private networks)
Experience with systems, platform, applications and database triage
Development and operational experience to customer facing B2B or retail verticals is highly preferred
Experience supporting a highly available environment for a cloud service provider
Experience working across the business to communicate infrastructure updates, downtime issues and other cross cutting issues affecting the business
Experience working with latest Cloud technologies such as Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Kubernetes, Microservices.
Experience with DevOps SRE/methodologies, from design to operations as well as lean/agile principles for Continuous Delivery.
Experience in design, development and Operation of large-scale internet services
Experience implementing Automation and IaC (infrastructure as Code) technologies (ie. Terraform) and container orchestration tools (ie. Kubernetes)
Experience with Sprint code release and supporting processes and tools, (ie. Kanban framework, Azure boards, Repos, Pipelines, Github)
Experience working on an environment with SLAs, SLOs and SLIs to deliver digital services reliabl
Experience with Azure Web Apps, Azure App services, Azure Application gateway
Experience working with various stakeholders to establish a roadmap and gain adoption for DevOps/SRE best practices and technologies (cloud architecture, automation, monitoring, CI/CD, etc.)
Specific Skills:
Familiar with Azure Data Factory and data pipelines (ie. Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Data Bricks & NoSQL Database technologies)
Excellent communication skills, able to work with Product managers and individual contributors.
Desirable experience with identity systems such as Okta
Bilingual English/Spanish would be a benefit.
