Job Summary:

Assist with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks by preparing tools and equipment, performing basic service operations, and maintaining a safe, organized workshop environment. Support efficient shop operations while developing hands-on automotive repair experience.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of work experience in auto repair or parts management.

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:

Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Attention to detail and safety awareness. Good communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Repair and replace brake system components to ensure vehicle safety and performance
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to verify repairs and proper operation
  • Communicate vehicle concerns and recommended repair solutions clearly and professionally to customers
  • Maintain accurate service records, including repairs completed and parts utilized
  • Stay current on emerging automotive technologies, tools, and repair procedures through ongoing learning and training

Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, frequent kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
