As a Supply Chain Planning Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for managing supply in response to signals from Demand Management / Marketing / Sales supporting quarterly revenue plans. This manager will lead a team responsible for managing an Advanced Planning System to match demand, capacity, and supply to meet customer requirements and cover business objectives. You are ultimately responsible for the success of your regional team and to ensure Business Unit and corporate objectives are met through global collaboration with partners internal and external to supply chain. This includes ensuring inventory targets, customer commitments, and overall production goals and objectives are met. You will work with Global Operations to enable efficient use of capacity and communicate with the Sales and Manufacturing teams to address areas where the supply may be adjusted to better satisfy demand. You will also work with Management on creation of metrics and continuously drive process improvement and accountability to these metrics throughout the supply chain.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute as a member of the leadership team.
  • Lead and develop a team that includes, establishing metrics, staffing needs, performance appraisals.
  • Develop strategic direction and provide guidance on key milestones, measurements, and objectives.
  • Position supply and inventory to meet revenue plan objective and communicate revenue plan risks and opportunities to Sales and BU stake holders.
    • Utilize an Advanced Planning System
    • Manage multistage postponement levels.
    • Manage and understand impact to safety stock levels.
    • Manage and provide guidance on build type strategies (Build To Order, Build To Forecast, Build To Target).
  • Establish a strong network and strong relationships with peers in partner organizations.
  • Ensure alignment of responsibility and accountability of the Supply team and our partner organizations
  • Orchestrate multiple processes across functional teams inside and outside of department.
  • Provide input into the Quarterly Sales Plan, including available supply, recommended inventory levels, inventory risks, and manufacturing risks and capabilities.
  • Act as key point of contact regarding supply questions from Sales/BU senior leadership
  • Provide feedback to Manufacturing, including notification of Sales priorities, changes, and risks, Sales requirements that cannot be driven through systemic means, and cross-product family priorities.
  • Provide high level tradeoffs and recommendations to the senior management team and executives.
  • Communicate with direct customers and external partners by providing input to Sales and Manufacturing
  • Communicate with partners to ensure contract adherence and trade-offs.
  • Drive accountability to established R&Rs across partner organizations.

The specified role does not encompass the following responsibilities: Finalization of sales agreements or the execution of sales contracts is prohibited. The role also does not carry the authority to make definitive decisions regarding contracts, be it their conclusion or termination. Furthermore, the role is not designed to involve participation in pricing negotiations or the authorization of contracts. These activities fall beyond the permissible duties of the position.
