Job Summary
The Health Care Analyst is responsible for quality of care support and physician engagement throughout UMC. The role involves analyzing data to drive physician engagement strategies, improving overall performance, and ensuring effective communication between UMC healthcare system and licensed medical staff.
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Serve as a liaison between physicians and various departments within the organization to facilitate smooth communication and address concerns.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret health care data related to physician performance, engagement, and patient outcomes
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics and trends impacting physician engagement; Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend strategies based on data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with leadership to design and execute programs that promote effective communication and collaboration with physicians.
• Support the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing physician engagement and satisfaction; Monitor the effectiveness of engagement strategies and make adjustments as needed
• Organize and coordinate focus groups, meetings, workshops, and engagement surveys to gather feedback; Present findings to hospital leadership; Design and execute initiatives/programs to promote resolutions and/or progressive outcomes
• Review, investigate, research, and produce reports for Ethics Point concerns regarding providers, grievances regarding patient and family concerns, and variance reports addressing safety and quality concerns.
• Work with quality improvement teams to identify and address areas for improvement in physician engagement and performance.
• Plan and execute key projects including Annual Professional Staff Meeting, Quarterly physician engagement luncheons, Doctor's Day celebration, Physician Leadership program, annual event celebrating physician tenure with UMC, and others as assigned.
• Track project progress, manage resources, and report on project status to stakeholders.
• All other assigned duties as requested by assigned department
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Health Informatics, Nursing or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• +3 years of experience in health care analytics, data analysis, or a related role. Experience supporting physician engagement initiatives is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health systems (EHR) and other healthcare technologies

• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Close interactions with health care employees, medical staff, and UMC leadership
Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force and/or frequently exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Work involves sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time. This position will require local travel to physician offices and other UMC locations as needed.

This position is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather, but not necessarily temperature changes.
