Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Programs Director to support the Airborne Battle Management Operating Unit (ABM OU) in Baltimore, MD.

The ABM OU within the Airborne Surveillance Business Unit is looking for a Programs Director to oversee the Production Programs pillar of the MESA business area.  The director will be responsible for the management and leadership of a cross-functional team that leads the various production programs and pursuits in the production portfolio. 

The position will require a candidate with strong leadership, program management and decision-making skills with the ability to perform in a dynamic, production environment. The position must role model Northrop Grumman leadership characteristics. We are looking for a self-starter and driven leader who can lead teams to execute existing programs on cost and schedule while achieving high customer satisfaction.

The Program Director will lead all phases of production programs from capture and inception through program closeout. Key responsibilities entail:

  • Coordinates the preparation and negotiation of production proposals and new contracts.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of production programs.
  • The director will lead a program management team aligned to common program performance goals. Understanding the principals of program management to include schedule management, risk and opportunity and earned value management is required.  
  • Identify program problems and works with the team to identify and execute solutions, such as RCCA plans, allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Acts as customer contact for program and capture activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and new business opportunities.
  • Provide day-to-day people leadership of team and create an environment that accelerates development of talent; drive continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement
  • The successful candidate will strategically align the production direct and supporting organizations within the OU to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects to cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
  • Past production experience.
  • An Active DoD Secret security clearance or DoE equivalent.
  • Strong communication and executive presence skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scaling production
  • Experience with Prime and Government customers.

Salary Range: $200,100.00 - $300,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
