eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Build and manage eBay’s Search Service Experience across desktop, mobile, web, native stack, and many other partner applications. Develop search services software that creates an engaging experience for users by serving contextual content.  Build and support complex web services and experience services stack. Build performance-efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software applications and systems. Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems. Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features. Develop software code and lead code review sessions.  Segment and design technical system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment to reduce software project risks. Work with other engineers, managers, product management, quality analysts, and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Write client-side code for web-based applications and develop new software prototypes quickly.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Base salary: $165,000-205,700 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
