AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

Underwriting:

  • Operate within the Cyber & Professional Liability best practices and underwriting guidelines
  • Produce new business by working with your broker network to source new opportunities
  • Provide operational excellence to our brokers and clients through a consistent, timely and proactive approach to underwriting
  • Attend client/broker functions when required

Budget Management/Sales & Distribution:

  • Assist in the budgeting process at a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Help the team to achieve the Cyber & Professional Liability budget and profitability goals by implementing an effective underwriting process.
  • Assist in developing and growing a working pipeline of new business
  • Work with all major brokers to create a system of strategic pipelining 
  • Work with our distribution partners to achieve positive outcomes in both new business and renewals

People Management:

  • Leading an underwriting team to drive profitable underwriting results
  • Mentor and train staff through effective leadership, role modelling and training programs
  • Promote a team culture of collaboration, inclusivity and learning
  • Develop each team member to facilitate personal growth, succession planning and career development, build personal development plans and engage in on the job training to develop underwriting and negotiation skills for junior team members

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in underwriting within the Cyber & Professional Liability
  • Prior management experience would be considered an asset
  • Proven ability to deliver difficult messages whilst influencing positive outcomes
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work for yourself and others
  • Proven ability to network and build relationships
  • Organized, highly motivated, self-starter who takes responsibility for own performance and demonstrates leadership in their approach to work, training and knowledge seeking.
  • General understanding and awareness of peoples’ behaviours, their complexities and how to deal with them
  • CIP/FCIP/CRM designation is considered an asset
