It is a management leadership level role to manage Core Trade Target Operating Model (TOM), direction and execution & apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge to reach solutions and ensure deliverables are completed efficiently and accurately. Focus will be on overall boundary of operation for Trade Services in Import and Export Bills, Collections, LC’s, Guarantee, etc in accordance with the Bank Operating procedures, underlying regulations and other Trade related international banking practices like UCP, URC, documentary nuances, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • This role is expected to have good knowledge of Trade and Working Capital products, trade workflows and processes. Good understanding of International Trade Fundamentals, Trade related Document scrutiny, and general ability to understand Sanctions and AML screening hits, disambiguation against Trade based Money laundering rules is preferable.
  • Good understanding of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules, Uniform Custom practices (UCP 600), Uniform rules for Trade Services products (URR725, URC522, ISP98, etc) along with skills to comprehend, understand and apply them to Trade process flows is preferable.
  • Ability to deliver Operations initiatives under Core Trade Services Target Operating Model (TOM), look at cross product synergies and other key strategic project deliverables such as Digitisation and Commercial Bank Operations Strategy for Core Trade.
  • To strategize and work on driving key initiatives for India Trade including change management of processes having regulatory implications like EDPMS, IDPMS, regulatory bill closures, Payment Credit control, purpose code management, etc and drive improving the volume elasticity for India Core Trade.
  • Effectively contribute to the governance of India Trade Operations Change management and new products/initiatives
  • Collaborate with the tech team and business/product partners to drive Core Trade Operations strategy, drive changes to move towards end state architecture and collaborate with business/product partners, Cluster and Global ops and functions to innovate and support new products/initiative.
  • Ability to interact, influence and work with Stakeholders from different business verticals- Coverage, Trade Product, Trade Sales, Technology, Compliance, etc enabling a stable operating environment.
  • Enable the design, development, delivery, and management of key communications for Core Trade.
  • Own and drive the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), for performance monitoring pertaining to the Business Operations and monitor the achievements of the underlying units.
  • Evaluate existing as well as new products/ services, operating flows and process design and provide recommendations on ways to improve the effectiveness/ efficiency of the transactions related to the same.
  • Ensure system and quality enhancements by monitoring the respective activities and processes implemented, and by keeping abreast with new methodologies and practices around digitization, digital initiation, new and emerging technologies like AI/ML, OCR, etc
  • Analyze complex and variable issues to resolve issues and ensure team deliverables meet performance and quality expectations
  • Contribute to business and financial planning, budget management, productivity initiatives, regional and Global strategy & initiatives and formulation of right procedures.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a related Trade operations management/change management and Leadership role.
  • Professional knowledge of Trade and Working capital related products and familiarity with ICC rules underpinning the Trade Operations
  • Good understanding of standard banking practices, regulatory and compliance requirement related to Core Trade and Trade finance.
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Project Management and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of systems and processes especially related to the area of responsibility outlined.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of Risk - Credit, Regulatory and Product.
  • Strong background in operation metrics management and well-versed in operating procedures and process maps.
  • Inspire and motivate others, fostering a positive environment conducive to change.
  • Ability to envision the big picture, identify potential obstacles, and devise effective strategies to overcome them

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
