Job Purpose:

The HSSE Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE), and Quality functional activities across projects and/or locations. The role ensures that HSSE policies, systems, procedures, and training programs are effectively implemented, documented, and maintained in line with organizational standards and guidance from senior HSSE advisors. The incumbent plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with applicable HSSE and Quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

HSSE Coordination & Documentation:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of HSSE activities across multiple projects, sites, or operational locations.
  • Maintain and update HSSE documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and registers.
  • Ensure HSSE records are accurately documented, controlled, and readily available for audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
  • Assist in tracking HSSE performance indicators and reporting data as required.

HSSE Policies, Systems & Compliance:

  • Coordinate the implementation of HSSE and Quality policies, systems, and practices in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior HSSE advisors to ensure all HSSE and Quality standards are met consistently across projects or locations.
  • Support risk management processes by ensuring hazards, risks, and control measures are properly identified, documented, reviewed, and maintained.
  • Assist in compliance monitoring, internal audits, and corrective/preventive action tracking.
  • Support incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions to ensure timely closure and lessons learned.

Training & Awareness Programs:

  • Coordinate HSSE training programs, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain training matrices and records to ensure compliance with mandatory HSSE training requirements.
  • Support the rollout of HSSE initiatives, campaigns, and safety improvement programs across sites.
  • Assist in evaluating training effectiveness and identifying additional training needs.

Communication & Stakeholder Support:

  • Act as a point of coordination between project teams, site personnel, contractors, and HSSE leadership.
  • Promote HSSE awareness and a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Support communication of HSSE updates, alerts, and best practices.

HSE Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
