Junior Video Editor

What You'll Do

  • Cull and assemble footage from raw clips, existing library assets, and prior videos — then cut a strong draft that serves the ask, whether the brief is fully mapped out or just a seed of an idea.
  • Translate the ask into a visual story — internalize a brief, reflect your interpretation back to the stakeholder to confirm alignment, then edit with intention: every cut and sequence should serve a clear message, audience emotion, or desired action
  • Work within established brand guidelines (animation style, textures, colors, typography are defined — use them as ingredients, not constraints) to produce work that feels consistent and on-brand; incorporate motion graphics, sound design, and music where appropriate
  • Own your drafts end-to-end — where a brief leaves gaps, fill them with creative judgment; make a call, try something, and bring your take to the table; manage multiple projects simultaneously and hit deadlines without needing to be chased
  • Maintain organized project files, asset libraries, and archiving systems in line with team workflows
  • Iterate quickly on feedback — take direction from senior editors and stakeholders, incorporate notes with speed and clarity, and communicate proactively about where you’re at and why you made the choices you did
  • Stay current on video trends, platform specs, and emerging formats
  • Deliver strong drafts for senior editor review — your primary output is a well-structured, on-brief cut that can give a senior editor a solid foundation to finalize and polish, not a rough assembly that needs rethinking from scratch.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of video editing experience, including internships or freelance work
  • Needs to be comfortable working on global business and have proficiency in global work
  • Comfortable creating a narrative thread from fragmented footage and loose ideas — you don’t need every detail spelled out to produce work that tells a clear, compelling story
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with After Effects is a plus
  • A portfolio of work samples demonstrating your editing — links, files, or a reel are all acceptable. Footage source is not a factor; what matters is that the editorial decisions are yours. Please do not submit work that was co-edited with another editor.
  • Understanding of pacing, narrative structure, and how to edit for emotion and impact
  • Working knowledge of video formats, codecs, compression, and delivery specs across platforms
  • Ability to take direction well and communicate clearly about timelines and creative decisions
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Bonus: experience with motion graphics, audio mixing, or color grading

Nice to Have

  • Experience editing brand or marketing content (not just personal or passion projects)
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Workfront, Asana, Frame.io, or similar
  • Exposure to video and photo shoots and the ability to assist at shoots
  • Interest in technology, product storytelling, or consumer tech content
