Vice President - Energy Management
Job Summary
The Vice President - Energy Management will lead the development, implementation, and management of our new Energy Management division. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of energy management, sustainability, and energy commodity markets. The VP will be responsible for developing and executing a companywide energy management solutions program.
Education/Certificates
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP), Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP), and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certifications preferred.
Experience
Minimum 25 years of experience in energy management, energy engineering consulting, and sustainability.
Proven track record of managing large-scale energy management programs and multimillion-dollar budgets.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to lead and develop energy management and sustainability initiatives.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Energy Management division.
Lead the team in expanding and managing energy management services for multi-family.
Position the company as a premier provider of energy management services.
Energy Management:
Oversee complex energy commodity hedging programs in deregulated electric and natural gas markets.
Implement energy conservation and sustainability projects, advanced reporting, and invoice payment validation tools.
Manage rate analysis and tax assurance services resulting in significant cost savings for our assets.
Sustainability and Compliance:
Oversee utility benchmarking services and ensure compliance with municipal and state mandates.
Lead ESG reporting for real estate and ensure interaction with GRESB and other sustainability reporting standards.
Develop and implement sustainability reporting and investment-grade sustainability data.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee advanced analytical processes for utility rates, tariffs, and invoice audits.
Ensure the development and management of utility management databases for comprehensive usage and cost analysis.
Oversee energy conservation projects, including ROI calculations, financing options, and implementation.
Additional:
Approximately 20% travel as-needed
Completes company required training by established deadline.
Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
