Job Summary:

We are seeking students majoring in software engineering or computer science programs. This opportunity will be working with senior leaders in the company to contribute towards the development of an administrative platform in an insurance environment. This is an opportunity for students to apply their academic experiences into real-life principles. Our goal is to provide our interns a meaningful experience where they can experience different aspects of software engineering.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Working closely with leaders to assist with the development of the company’s new Admin platform
  • You will have the opportunity to apply your curriculum knowledge within this role
  • Gaining hands-on experience deploying applications into Google Cloud, creating GraphQL APIs using Spring Boot
  • Will gain experience with Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Single-page applications

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students completing their sophomore or junior year preferred.
  • Availability to work full-time hours over the summer.
  • Familiar with Insurance industry is helpful.
  • Knowledge of modern languages; JavaScript/Typescript, Kotlin (or Java), or Node.jsAbility to clearly articulate complex information to others.
  • Detail oriented with strong focus on quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems and issues of all types.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ownership and accountability for deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with any department.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with SDLC and/or Agile scrum in a technical environment (Jira)
