Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Systems Engineer position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex systems. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Preparing solution packages documenting recommended technical solutions and estimated costs and benefits.  

  • Identify, assess, and present options for meeting the functional and technical requirements.

  • Produce artifacts to include system design diagrams, recommendation justifications, and technical specifications.  

  • Design and implement virtualization and containerization solutions using validated methodologies; maintaining and upgrading datacenter virtualization and network virtualization & cloud environments.  

  • Design system solutions that satisfy customer requirements and meet service delivery objectives.

  • Ensuring systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations, implementing security measures, and participating in security audits and assessments.

  • Lead execution of the full project lifecycle, from planning, through implementation, to operational readiness.

  • Lead technical discussions both internally and with customer teams. 

  • Help resolve issues that arise in implementing solutions and systemic incident resolution.  

  • Planning for scalability to accommodate future growth and implementing measures to scale systems efficiently.

  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, testing disaster recovery procedures, and ensuring systems are resilient to potential failures or disasters.

  • Implementing and enforcing change management processes, assessing the impact of proposed changes to systems, and coordinating change activities to minimize disruption to operations.

  • Providing training and knowledge transfer to team members, documenting system configurations and procedures, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. 

  • Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ CE.  

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered.

  • Systems development experience involving COTS/GOTS integration.

  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues and design effective solutions.

  • Possess effective communication and be able to collaborate with Customers, cross-functional teams, document technical processes, and present solutions to stakeholders.

  • Experience with containerization software (Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • Experience with SAN and NAS storage technologies.

  • Experience working with virtual environments (VMWare, KVM).

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks effectively, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with administering RHEL 7 & RHEL 8 systems.  

  • Experience with SAN and NAS storage technologies.

  • Experience with Basic protocols (DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, etc).

  • Possess the ability to adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and environments. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Network Monitoring and analysis support tools (ELK, Raw, Query, Arkime Viewer, Zeek, Suricata, Beats, Endgame).

  • Experience with Dell EMC Unity Storage Arrays Active.

  • Experience with DISA STIGs, Air Force MTOs, TCNOs and other guidance.  

  • Knowledge of DoD and/or USAF systems engineering processes and procedures.

  • Possesses one or more of the following: VCP, VCP-NV, VCP-DTM, CCNA, Cloud +, AWS SA, RHCSA (RedHat), RHCSE (RedHat), Linux +.  

  • Experience with a ticketing system such as Service Now.

  • Microsoft Server experience (2016, 2019 & 2022).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
