Position Summary

The Market Access Manager is accountable to ensure access, design and execute access solutions to our medicines within or outside provision of national health insurance law such as implementation or facilitation of reimbursement decisions, cell and gene therapy reimbursement as well as KVV Art 71 a-d. In this role the Market Access Manager develops tailored access strategies including developing reimbursement dossiers, KVV Art 71 a-d strategies, value stories and negotiations for local access in close cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Market Access Manager develops market access strategy taking into account BMS internal requirements, external framework and competitor landscape
  • Early and close alignment to global MAx and clear communication of country market access strategy to minimize internal and external barriers
  • Prepare compelling value stories and reimbursement dossiers using local and international data and insights
  • Responsible for Negotiation with the Federal Office of Public Health for inclusion on specialty list and/or with health insurances for access outside of regular national reimbursement (KVV Art 71, ATMPs)
  • Forecast with cross-functional colleagues various budget scenarios (including risks/opportunities)
  • BMS portfolio and plan submission strategy
  • Understanding health insurance, Medical officer’s needs, negotiating prices and contracts across BMS portfolio conditions according to BMS strategy with key customers according to BMS commercial policy within legal and ethical boundaries as well as ensures appropriate record management
  • Understand Swiss Market Access framework (including Swiss health care and hospital system as well as the national health authority) and anticipate health policy trends and its implications for BMS in order to accelerate access for our patients/impact future pricing and reimbursement
  • Single point of contact for cross-functional team, active representation of market access (incl. governmental affairs & policy, HEOR) in brand teams


Qualifications & Experience
 

  • University degree in sciences/medical or health economics
  • Excellent German & English skills as well written as spoken
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strategic pricing & reimbursement leadership
  • Efficient goal-oriented and self-dependent working style
  • Basic health economic knowledge preferable
  • Data management/quantitative analytics capabilities and the ability to transform insights into actionable value models and messaging
  • In depth knowledge of the Swiss P&R process and the legal-frame work and stakeholder environment preferable
  • Excellence in cross-functional matrix working
  • Strong communication and negotiations skills in required languages
  • Collaboration with all relevant parts of the BMS organization, based on effective teaming and an integrated data/ value demonstration strategy
