Role Summary

Vacation® Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can bring strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to the Finance and Accounting team. As a Senior Accountant, you will support the company’s month-end close process, review and support matters related to sales tax compliance, and provide daily support to our international accounting team with Accounts Receivable and Payable processes, as well as any ad hoc requests as needed. 

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with the ability to increase efficiencies and document complex accounting processes. They should also have a strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting policies and procedures and a history of collaborating across teams. This role reports directly to the Controller. This will be a “hands-on” role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Controller and the broader team in the month-end close process to ensure an accurate reflection of revenue and costs, including review of reconciliation schedules and other supporting schedules. 
  • Work cross-functionally to drive process improvement and automation.
  • Support with customer outreach for outstanding balances, as well as track and dispute retailer chargebacks.
  • Increase efficiency and document complex accounting processes, including internal processes and controls.
  • Prepare federal, state and local tax and compliance filings such as sales tax, 1099s, Delaware Franchise, etc.
  • Provide support for our annual financial audit and other due diligence as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; accounting or finance strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred 
  • Minimum 4-7 years of full-cycle accounting experience 
  • CPG experience; personal care or beauty industry preferred
  • Obsessed with data and using the numbers to help drive decision-making
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with meticulous organizational and time management skills; must be a self-starter
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of QuickBooks, Bill.com, Excel, expense management software, and other accounting-related software
  • Working knowledge of Cin7/DEAR or other inventory management systems 
  • Ability to work in a task-based environment
  • Comfortable working remotely and utilizing shared documents, Zoom, Slack, Asana, G-Suite, and other tools to stay connected and work as a team
  • Excited to grow Vacation® into a household name and have fun in the process
